HOW IT WORKS
Older adults sign up for the phone call program by filling out a simple registration and interests form.
High school and college students who have signed up for the program as volunteers are paired with 1-2 registered older adults. Before working, volunteers complete a mandatory on boarding training.
Once a week, at a predetermined time, high school volunteers make social companionship phone calls of about 20-30 minutes in length to their respective older adults. Summary call logs are used to document the calls, and training and supervision are provided to all volunteers.
